How to Split Target Purchase Between Two Cards

If you've found yourself in a situation where you need to split your purchase on between multiple cards, you've also come to realize that - unlike the brick and mortar Target stores - does not offer a way for you to split your payment up.

Don't worry, below i'll describe a simple trick to split your payment on using Target Gift Cards.

Purchase this Target Gift Card with one of your debit or credit cards. For example, I used my credit card to buy the gift card. Choose an amount for your gift card that is about half the cost of the item you want to buy from Target. Remember to select "e-mail" for the "Send by" option and so that you receive your custom gift card immediately.

Buying gift card to split payment

You can purchase a gift card with a custom amount here:

After purchasing this gift card you will be emailed a gift card and access number. Copy those numbers as you will need use it in the next step.

  • This is not limited to two payment sources. You can repeat the step above up to 4 times.
  • It appears that $1,000 is the maximum gift card amount you can purchase at once.
  • It can take up to 4 hours to receive the gift card and access number in your email.

Now that you have your gift card number and access number, you can now proceed to checkout the item you want to split with the gift card and your other debit or credit card.
